Short answer
Rolex reference 6062 is an Oyster Perpetual with a triple calendar and a moonphase. Rolex built it around 1950 to 1953. "Bailer" is not a Rolex term, a dial name, or a case maker. It appears in no auction catalog I can find. Two near matches exist: Beyer, the Zurich retailer that stamped its name on Rolex dials, and Stelline, the star-index dial of the 6062. Neither is confirmed as "bailer."
What reference 6062 is
- Function: day, date, month apertures plus a moonphase at 6 o'clock.
- Case: Oyster, 36 mm, screw-down crown. Made in 18k yellow gold, 18k rose gold, and stainless steel.
- Movement: automatic, with the calendar and moonphase module on top.
- Dials: star indexes, pyramid indexes, and Arabic numerals. Star-index examples are called Stelline.

The 6062 known as Bao Dai sold at Phillips in Geneva in May 2017 for CHF 5,060,427. That price set the top mark for the reference. Gold 6062s in clean condition trade in the high six figures. Steel 6062s with star dials sell for more than gold ones in some sales.
Is there a "bailer" version?
No record supports one. Beyer Chronometrie of Zurich sold Rolex watches and added its name to some dials, a practice called double name. A 6062 with a Beyer signature would be a retailer-signed dial, not a separate reference. I found no documented 6062 with that signature, so the point stays open.
Replica 6062s on the market
Sellers list 6062 replicas from about $200 to $1,500. Claims to check:
- Moonphase. The original runs a 29 day, 12 hour, 44 minute cycle. Most replicas use a 24-hour disc or a day and night disc. A 24-hour disc is not a moonphase.
- Case size. The original is 36 mm. Many replicas measure 39 mm or 40 mm.
- Calendar. A real triple calendar has three separate apertures. Some replicas print the month on the dial.
- Movement. Common bases are a Seagull ST series or a Miyota 9015 with an added calendar module. Ask for a movement photo.
- Stamping. Reference and serial numbers sit between the lugs on the original.
Gold-plated replicas lose their finish. Weight differs from solid gold. Neither fact proves a watch real, but both help rule one out.
Legal status in the US
Trafficking in counterfeit goods violates 18 U.S.C. 2320. US Customs and Border Protection seizes counterfeit watch shipments at ports. A replica is not a gray-market original, and it carries no Rolex warranty or service support.
Bottom line
The 6062 is a documented Rolex reference with a known production window and auction history. "Bailer" is not part of that record. Buyers searching the term should compare any listing against the real specs: 36 mm Oyster case, screw-down crown, three calendar apertures, and a true 29.5-day moonphase.
