  • Jump timing. Watch the minute window at the 59 second mark. The disc should land centered within about one second. A slow roll or a partial change means a weak module or a low mainspring.
  • Window alignment. Numerals should sit square in the aperture and touch neither edge.
  • Seconds hand. One tick per second means quartz. Five to eight ticks per second means a balance wheel.
  • Power reserve scale. On most replicas this is printed or fixed. It does not track the mainspring.
  • Caseback. Check engraving depth, letter spacing, and the reference number.
  • Weight. Gold and platinum originals are heavy. A steel replica with plating weighs less.
