Short answer
A replica Vacheron Constantin Harmony Chronograph is a third-party copy of the cushion-case watch Vacheron Constantin launched in 2015. Most copies sell for $180 to $700. They run a Seagull ST19, a 7750-derived automatic, or a quartz module. None of them use the genuine caliber 3300. No copy matches the original case metal, movement, or dial finishing.
What the genuine watch is
Vacheron Constantin introduced the Harmony line in 2015 for its 260th anniversary. The base Harmony Chronograph, reference 5300S/000R-B055, has a cushion-shaped case in 18k rose gold, 42 mm wide and 52 mm from lug to lug. The dial is opaline silver with Arabic numerals and a pulsometer scale. Vacheron Constantin lists the movement as the in-house caliber 3300: hand-wound, 30-minute counter, 65-hour power reserve. A 37 mm small model sits below it in the range.
How copies are built
Replica factories do not produce a caliber 3300. Listings that say "clone 3300" show a different movement with engraved plates and a bridge shaped to look similar.
- Quartz copies: $60 to $150. Pushers may not start a running chronograph. Subdials are fixed in many units.
- ST19 copies: $180 to $350. The Seagull ST19 is a hand-wound column-wheel chronograph. Power reserve runs about 40 hours.
- 7750-derived copies: $250 to $500. Automatic, 28,800 vph, 44 to 48 hours of reserve. The case runs thicker than the original because the movement is thicker.
- High-tier copies: $400 to $700. Sapphire crystal, steel case with gold plating or PVD, better dial print, anti-reflective coating.
Checks before buying
- Case size. Ask for a caliper photo. Copies often measure 43 to 44 mm against the 42 mm original.
- Thickness. Automatic copies measure 13 to 15 mm. The original is a thin cushion case.
- Weight. Solid gold weighs more than steel. A plated steel case on a strap is lighter than the original.
- Subdial count. The original uses two registers. A 7750 copy uses three. Count them against reference photos.
- Markers. The original has applied gold markers. Many copies print them on the dial.
- Movement photos. Ask for a shot of the caseback side before payment.
What copies cannot match
No copy matches the caliber 3300, the 65-hour reserve, the gold case, or the dial finish under a loupe. Vacheron Constantin does not service replicas. Parts for the movement come from the aftermarket, and a watchmaker who knows the 7750 or ST19 can do basic work. Published thickness figures for the genuine ref. 5300S vary by source, so measure a copy against a spec sheet you trust.
