Short answer
A replica IW323775 is a counterfeit copy of an IWC Pilot's Watch. Prices run from about $120 for a low grade model to $500 to $700 for a super clone with a Swiss or Japanese automatic movement. The genuine watch comes from IWC Schaffhausen. The copies do not. No replica uses an IWC movement, and no replica carries an IWC warranty or service record.
What the reference number covers
IWC lists Pilot's Watch references in the 32xx and 37xx blocks. Sellers use "IW323775" across more than one dial and strap combination. This guide does not confirm a single factory spec sheet for that number. Check case diameter, dial color, hand finish, and movement number on IWC's own product page before you compare a listing against anything.
The Pilot's Watch Automatic line used the IWC calibre 35111 in older Mark XVIII models. That calibre is a Sellita SW300-1 base: 25 jewels, 28,800 vph, 42-hour power reserve. IWC does not publish that calibre for every 32xx reference. Where a seller does not name the movement, treat the claim as unverified.
Grades in the market
- Low grade: mineral glass, printed dial, quartz or a rough automatic, $80 to $150.
- Mid grade: 316L steel, sapphire crystal, Miyota 9015 or Seagull ST21, $200 to $350.
- Super clone: 904L or 316L steel, sapphire with inner AR coating, decorated ETA 2892 clone or Sellita SW300 copy, $400 to $700.
Six points to inspect
- Case diameter. Pilot's Watch cases sit between 40mm and 43mm. A listing that states 38mm or 45mm is a different watch.
- Date window and font. Copies print a heavier date font and set the window too far from the dial edge.
- Crown. The IWC crown is signed. A blank or shallow engraving is a common tell.
- Movement finish. Genuine IWC movements carry Geneva stripes and an IWC engraving. Copies use printed plates.
- Caseback serial. Copies repeat one number across whole batches.
- Crystal coating. Genuine sapphire has an inner anti-reflective coat. A strong blue glare means the coating sits on the outside.
Legal position in the United States
Importing counterfeit watches is prohibited. 18 U.S.C. § 2320 covers trademark counterfeiting. U.S. Customs and Border Protection can seize and destroy shipments. Resale carries more risk than personal import, and online marketplaces ban the listings.
What a replica cannot deliver
Service parts for an IWC movement come from IWC. A copy takes generic parts or none at all. Water resistance is untested on most copies, so keep them out of pools and showers. Resale value is near zero.
